In 1975 and 76, I had the good luck to be invited to cover a number of Formula One races, with the sort of access that in 2025 literally costs thousands of pounds. By chance, the period covered the greatest contest in the sport's history, culminating in Britain’s James Hunt becoming World Champion in 1976.
